At the Professional Learning Day, you will hear how the program has impacted positively on teachers in the Border region over the past two years and participate in a practical workshop, led by John Nicholas Saunders, Education Manager with Sydney Theatre Company.

This practical day will provide teachers with a range of drama-based strategies to use in their English and literacy programs. All primary teachers are encouraged to attend and no prior arts experience is necessary. Primary Generalist Teachers, Teacher Librarians, English and Literacy Specialists would benefit most from this workshop.
Murray Arts, HotHouse Theatre and Sydney Theatre Company will roll out School Drama regionally around the border in Terms 2, 3 and 4 in 2017. The program is open to primary schools located in AlburyCity, City of Wodonga, Indigo, Greater Hume, Federation and Towong Shires. School Drama is a teacher Professional Learning program with a difference — we bring the learning to you, pairing each primary school teacher with a Teaching Artist to embark on a unique co-mentoring partnership.
Teachers attending the School Drama Professional Learning Event will recieve a certificate of participation for accreditation purposes.
NSW Teachers: Sydney Theatre Company – is a NSW Institute of Teachers’ endorsed provider of Institute Registered professional development for the maintenance of accreditation at Proficient Teacher/Professional Competence.
